Thursday I played a twilight round at Winnetka again. Got almost the exact same bad lie in the same trap, on the same hole, as the photo to the right. The only difference this week was that I was a bit deeper in the sand and about 4 inches from that white sign. Aaaauurgh.
The subconscious is a tough thing. How many times do we do the exact thing on the same hole over and over? -- even when the shot is not that hard and you would never do the same thing on a similar hole on a course you never played before.
